See attached .doc file. Simply opening and saving this 3 page file results in a
file that is 6 pages long for no apparent reason.

I also did the following test:
- open original .doc file. (formatting OK)
- save-as .odt
- close file
- open .odt version. (formatting OK)
- save-as .doc format
- close file
- open .doc version  (formatting broken)

So I am quite confident the .doc export is wrecking the formatting.

Problem is known, will be fixed in OOo 3.1. See issue 99024 and issue 98553.
