Starting either writer or calc frequently fails.  The OPen Office logo comes up
OK, then the programme flashes up on the screen and instantly disappears.

I hae been using "Ooo 3.0.1 (DE) Multilingual version GERMAN UI WIN XP:
[OOO300m15 (Build 9379)]" for months and can NOT confirm such a general "often
fails to start" problem. 

Pls. repair (or uninstall / reinstall) your OOo, and if the problem remains,
pls. contribute more information (PC, Processor, graphic card ..., OOo
localization, ...

 I am running the English language version. The problem started with OOO 3.0.0.
 I was hoping 3.0.1 would resolve the problem, but it has continued.  I have
tried repairing but to no effect.  Both versions (and all the previous ones I
have used) were downloaded from the OOO website.

I have a Toshiba A110-276 Equium laptop, running XP SP2, Intel T2300 processor.
 The video card is whatever they put in as standard.

Right now I am planning to revert to OOO 2.4

Did you also try to delete (rename!) your OOo profile?

Any crash report ID available?

What is my OOO profile?

Crash reports were submitted on 20/1, 6/2, 18/2 and today.  I do not have ID for
any of these unless you can tell me where to find them.

In the crash report dialogue you can mention an e-mail address, to where the
report ID should be sent.

You should report the IDs here!

I do not know the English path name for the profile, in German it's 
<C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Anwendungsdaten\OpenOffice.org\3\...>

Asking again: Have tried to rename or delete the user configuration data at
"c:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\3"?
