In Apache 2.5, a nice option has been added : 
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_macro.html#macroignoreemptyargs

Is it possible to backport it to Apache 2.4 ?

Because it's a very interesting feature for those who use mod_macro, and I couldn't find an estimated release date for version 2.5.
