Today Disney released one of its superior films. This film, entitled Haunted Mansion, is a supernatural horror comedy genre film directed by Justin Simien. Justin was previously known for his works such as Bad Hair (2020) and the Dear White People series (2017-2021).

LaKeith Stanfield plays Ben Matthias, an astrophysicist who doesn't really want to be a tour guide because he is haunted by the death of his wife.

His gloomy days are slightly disrupted when Pastor Kent (Owen Wilson) shows up at his door, offering him 2,000 American dollars to help a mother and daughter, Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and Travis (Chase Dillon), help with their new, very haunted house. .

Of course, Ben didn't just believe it, until the ghost followed him home. Ben then recruits an academic (Danny DeVito) and a medium (Tiffany Haddish) to help him rid the house of the evil spirit living in the house.

Plans for a Haunted Mansion reboot adaptation actually began in July 2010, when Guillermo del Toro, who intended to write and produce, stated that the project would take place in a higher reality than the real world.

Del Toro's name was no longer attached as director of this film in July 2013. After spending years, Disney finally officially announced Haunted Mansion in August 2020, with Dippold signing a contract to write a new screenplay for the film.

Simien negotiated to direct the film in April 2021, and it was officially confirmed three months later. The main cast was confirmed from July to October, while additional cast members were announced the following year.

Haunted Mansion premiered at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, on July 15, 2023, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 28 by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
