How can I create a text file called just "README"? It seems that I must create
a text file, then go outside the IDE and rename it to remove the extension. I
accept that a file extension is needed to know what filetype something is. But
if "text" is the default catch-all type, then couldnt there be an checkbox
option in the creation template wizard for user supplied or no extension,
rather than always defaulting to .txt ?

This would handle many types of textual files unknown to Netbeans the user may
create once or twice but not want to register.
