When invoking a menu item, button, or anything else that has a modal dialog box, the modal dialog box occasionally
appears blank.  I can sometimes use the hotkeys that I've memorized to make it through the dialog, but other times, I
can only restart Netbeans.  The close (X) button doesn't work in these dialogs, either.

Symptoms look a duplicate of issue 122073.
tigera, have you DuoCore processor by chance?

Yes, I do.  I have the latest JDK too.  Definitely a duplicate - good catch.
