Description ladermann 2007-12-31 09:05:17 UTC
Using the GTK L&F makes some labels in menus unreadable. Especially this can (not ;-)) be seen in the "View" menu,
where some entries can be checked ("Show Line Numbers" etc.).

We don't do anything special with menu items, it's normal Swing. So probably error is not directly related to NetBeans,
however I need more info:

May you please try:
- run with various JDK versions, newest one to see if problem persists
- check other java apps like SwingSet2 demo coming with JDK if it suffers from the same problem
- try to run with other GTK themes set and check if problem persists

Waiting for your response, thanks.

Only the 1.6.0.x JDK's shows the problem (I tested 1.6.0_04, 1.6.0_10). With the latest 1.5.0 the problem does not
appear, but the GTK L&F on that JDK looks so ugly that it's not worth to be used...
Probably all this means, that it is a bug in the 1.6 JDK, since the problem doesn't depend on the choosen GTK theme.
