In my years with NB and SunStudio 've had _All_ kinds of TC's appear in the editor area instead of where they are supposed to appear. The editor area is the default mode so if something's not right TC's will go there. But I've never been able to figure this out. In ay case the TC is mnaged by dlight.terminal. reuse of tabs is subject of heated discussion among the relevant engineers. I just wanted to report that the behavior is not consistent (or it wasn't for me) - if one open Terminal for the 1st time, it is opened next to the Output window, if one closes it and opens again, it is opened in the editor area. IMHO next to the Output window is the place where I would expect it (similarly to other editors, file managers etc.; I have never seen any editor to have terminal emulator next to the edited file) - but I don't have strong opinion on this, it can be easily moved. (In reply to comment #3) > it can be easily moved. This is true, however, the last position is not remembered, the new terminal window always opens in the editor area (at least for me). That the tab re-opens in the editor area is a bug. I can reproduce it. But vladimir has too look at how he manages the TopComponent. this is issue of window system. but I will change default persistent mode to fix in on our side |
