Description brandonbrandon 2010-08-31 13:04:03 UTC
I had to enter a web proxy in order to download plugins, do updates, etc. I then attempted to add a Glassfish server that existed on my local LAN. Whenver I attempted to connect to the Glassfish server, nothing would happen. I tried both an IP address and a hostname after modifying /etc/hosts.

I then realized that maybe the proxy in the general options dialog was getting in the way. I set the option to No Proxy and I could then connect to the server on my local segment.

I think there should be an option in the Servers plugin to configure proxy settings per server. There should at least by a bypass option. I do not want to have to toggle the proxy on/off in the main dialog whenever I'd like to develop against a server on the LAN.

Tools | Options | Manual Proxy Settings | More
provides a way to set No Proxy for particular locations, otherwise you can use "System Proxy" which usually provides rich set of configurations
