The IDE is not starting even after 20 mins. See logs. I'll try to get a thread dump.

Trying to get Thread or Heap dumps with VisualVM 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 gives a failure message.
Comment 3 Marian Mirilovic 2012-04-19 08:50:52 UTC
reassign to performance team for further evaluation
Comment 4 Tomas Hurka 2012-04-19 11:10:18 UTC
According to the VisualVM snapshot, JVM is dead. It does not even update its uptime. From the messages.log, it looks like JDK, NetBeans and NetBeans userdir are on the remote disk. Can you, please, install those locally, put userdir on the local disk and try it once more. Thanks.
Comment 5 javydreamercsw 2012-04-19 13:21:27 UTC
After wiping out the user dir it started working. It has always worked on that scenario (JDK, NetBeans and NetBeans userdir are on the remote disk) for months and probably years.
Comment 6 Petr Cyhelsky 2012-05-30 11:09:39 UTC
If it stops working again please reopen the bug.
