Need an option to increase recent project list from 10 to let's say 30 items. Now it is hardcoded, how about to set this item to be parametarized in

config\Preferences\org\netbeans\modules\projectui.properties

well, the question arises - what to you need it for? what is your workflow associated with the recent projects submenu?
Comment 2 daorus 2013-03-13 09:55:59 UTC
I'm responsible for control of all current projects and this list is about 30-40 sites. I do not code them, I'm a team leader and i just control them. That's why i need to switch beetween them in list instead of finding these projects in comples customer folder tree on the disk.

you might want to consider the project group feature (File main menu).

The number of projects is limited for both performance reasons (less stuff to read to construct the menu) and UI reasons (10 items in popup don't overflow the screen)

This require opening and maintaining constant list of projects and switching to it removes your current context (and takes ages, sadly).
Sometimes you do want to quickly open some project and instead of browsing for it on the drive it would be list in the recent.
Browsing is sadly quite painful as you have to navigate to the directory with pom.xml - lot's of clicking to get that done.
It would be useful to pin projects to favourite list but that can't be done now.

Well, he hasn't proposed hardcoding bigger default - simply implementing possibility to configure that manually. I would also love to see that configurable - for me setting 30 items would greatly help with my workflow and also would still fit on the screen.

Bump. I'd like this as well, switching between 30+ projects, ~5-10 per day, I know I opened this one project a day or two ago, but it's gone already...
