As mentioned by Fabien Potencier (http://symfony.com/blog/end-of-pear-support-for-symfony), the Symfony PEAR channel is obsolete and SensioLabs doesn't offer support anymore for PEAR channels like updates, for instance.

The tests performing Symfony and PEAR instalations, IMHO, should be reviewed and updated, since Symfony's PEAR channel updates are no longer supported by SensioLabs.
