Created attachment 151745 [details] Screenshot showing my Palette and Palette Manager The Netbeans guide for "Adding a File Chooser to a Java Application" shows this component under "Swing Windows" in the Palette. On my system, however, it does not appear in that location. This has been true for me since I began using Netbeans with version 7.3 on Windows Vista SP2 (32 bit). Now using version 8.0.2, I have found the component under "Look and Feels," which I first had to discover and enable via the Palette Manager.
