Netbeans ide.log
horatio, I am sorry but we need more informations , we can't do anything with this if we can't reproduce it, so please provide as much informations as you can .... decreasing priority to P2 What do you mean by "Hard crash/reboot/reset" ? (IDE doesn't run , JVM crash with error log, IDE freezed, PC crashed/rebooted, .....) Please let me know what extra information is relevant, as I think there hardly isn't any. I'm running a completely updated winXP pro installed on march 12. About two weeks ago I installed j2sdk1.4.2_04 and also a JRE. Yesterday I installed nb and immediatly the problem popped up. I had just opened a new project, made an extension to JFrame, added a menubar and a panel in the form editor and set some properties. Then all of a sudden my screen goes black and my pc reboots. Just as if I had pressed the reset button. At first I though that that might be what happened so after reboot I continued working for a couple minutes more until it happened again. This time I was running nothing in the background except for NIC diagnostics, audio and graphics control panels all in the system tray. *Poof* reboot. Just like that. No warnings, no errors, nothing. My system: P4 2.8GHz HT on an Asus P4P800 (Not overclocked!) 2x256 MB Corsair DDR PC 3200 in Dual Channel mode Seagate Baracuda 120GB SATA in a single NTFS partition Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB NIC and sound onboard on the P4P800 what about video drivers? Haven't had any problems with those so far. Still using the ones that came with the card. Updating them now to see what happens. Maybe duplicate of issue 39766. You can try to add this into your ide.cfg ($NB_INSTALL/bin/ide.cfg) file: "-J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true" (without the quotes), it may help. Well, try to run IDE with switch -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true If it works, it's duplicate of issue 30952.... Do you have the same problem with all other Java applications ? Haven't noticed any problems with Java programs so far, but I must say I haven't used many either since buying this system. Got any good candidates for testing if the same problem pops up? One big difference from the issue you mention is that my system doesn't hang, it simply resets itself. Have had only a couple of minutes to test it, but it seems like both methods (the switch and a driver update) each solve it _on their own_. At least I can continue working now. Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to let you know if anything else pops up. This really looks very similar to #30952, although that has been supposedly worked around in JDK 1.4.1 updates and fixed in new ATI drivers. More likely, this is a new issue with similar symptoms and causes. Might be worth mentioning in the 3.6 release notes (if it's not too late). reopening closing as INVALID - not a netbeans' bug thanks for report closed |
