It is an obscure use case to have such files if you are not NetBeans developer.
But anyway we should be able to edit these files in IDE.

Well, I am not a NB developer, but this issue sounds more like an enhancement proposal (furthermore an enhancement aimed
only at NB developers) than a defect.

I am changing this issue to ENHANCEMENT, but maybe I am wrong. If it is that case - feel free to change it back to
DEFECT and provide some additional information about why you think the issue should be marked as a DEFECT then...

[The issue is quite old, is it still valid? I have no idea how to test it:-/...]
