Looks like the german keyboard allso has this error, see bug number 8070... Please, see: http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbusers/msg03757.html If you can write '<' and '>' on the terminal, and not in the netbeans, and have LC_ALL set to no_NO, please, reopen the bug. I had norgwegian keyboard working on my computer. The '<' and '>' were mapped to some strange key, but it is possible to remap it to any key. See documentation to "xkb". Ive tuned xkb files and I am getting the editor to work in us_EN but not NO keyboard layout... It is not the language but the layout/scancodes that squirks. X windows gives me all those nice characters (just look at this mail :) (<>|ยง)) but netbeans will not. I have tracked the bug to heavyweight components not giving all input events to the lightweight components (only occurs in swing).. Though you will have to look on the bug on java.sun.com in the VM, so it looks like a JDK bug not NetBeans. Its in the JDK...1.3.0_001 from sun and backwards. Due a transfer from bugzilla to issuezilla, this resolution was lost. Resolved for 3.3.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
