Description maeherrasenhaus 2009-12-22 10:38:55 UTC
hi there,
I got a problem with openoffice after upgrading from 3.0 to 3.1 (Fedora 10 to
Fedora 11). Previously I could convert all types of documents to PDF by using
this command:

/usr/bin/ooffice -headless -pt PDF-Konverter "Profil.rtf"

Now this still works (i.e. it creates a PDF-file), but the command does not
return after printing. Instead I have to kill it. As a "workaround" I found that
I have to start first

/usr/bin/soffice
-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager -headless
-nologo -norestore -nofirststartwizard

(that does not return either, but this time probably on purpose....)

When I issue the above first command again, it prints and returns, but this
Server-Mode-OpenOffice has to run in the background.....

What is the difference between 3.0 and 3.1 and how can I create PDF's with just
a single instance of openoffice?

Regards Michael

seems to work just fine in DEV300m68

@cd: was there any known issue with commandline printing that would cause the
office not to quit ?

FWIW F-11 is no longer supported by Fedora. The obvious thing to do would be to
run with "headless" and see if e.g. the worthless "register" dialog has appeared
for some reason.
