And using the same fix to interoperate with LO 3.5.3+ will break interoperability with all previous releases of Apache OpenOffice, Oracle/Sun OpenOffice.org, and LibreOffice. The claim in LO bug 47406 is that, at least in part, the ODF specification is implemented incorrectly, and it has been done so in all OpenOffice-lineage implementations until LibreOffice 3.5.3. Since this is related to ODF provisions borrowed from SVG, it gets even more interesting. It would be (have been) great to work this out as a community interoperability issue. Simply changing the behavior with no way of recognizing documents that depend on either behavior (no matter which is considered correct) is not helpful. |
