Error 1311 prevents installation
Installs without problem on German Windows 10. Also no problem on German Windows 11. Thank you for checking out my ticket. The _standard_ Language & Region settings on my machines are: - Windows display language (Polish), Region (Poland), Regional format (Polish (Poland)); - under "Administrative language settings", "Language for non-Unicode programs" is set to Polish. With these settings, the installation of the Norwegian (Bokmål) language pack ends with error 1311. As I mentioned, the problem is with the letter "å" in the name of the proposed destination, but it turns out that it also occurs with "ø" and "æ". If I change "Language for non-Unicode programs" to "English (United States)", or "German (Germany)" or "Norwegian (Bokmål)" the installation succeds. Could this be related to differences in character encoding (flavours)? Definitely, this is most likely a problem with a special character in the path. The MSI installer does not seem to like it... ;-) I think we once had a similar issue with a special character in the user name (and therefor in the path to the desktop) which I could not replicate on German Windows. |
