I don't think that somebody needs pdf files with 200". If I had such large HTML doc I would change to printmode and create smaller pdf pages. I do not plan to change our current behaviour for the OOo2.0 but maybe we'll fix it in an later version. I guess the same people who need an 200" HTML file need a 200" PDF :-). Wince we don't do something like this when printing the HTML file, is it really a problem to do the same in the PDF case ? This issue seems to be related to issue 17230, where page breaks for PDF exported HTML documents are requested. From the discussion here, it is not clear, whether these missing page breaks are considered a bug or a feature. If the single page PDF export that depends on the screen size of the document window (!) is considered a feature, I would request an additional feature that allows to "print" a HTML document into a "regular" PDF file with pages of selectable size (e.g. for archiving webpages electronically instead of printing them on paper). |
