I mean, of course, I cannot center VERTICALLY reassigned to bh *** Issue 22614 has been confirmed by votes. *** I suppose this refers to "vertical justification", i.e. the possibility to have a text correctly distributed vertically with the first and last line always aligned at the same position on all the pages. Actually this only appears to be possible within a text frame; this is not a very suitable solution for a hundred page document! Is this option planned? It would be great if it were! I would change the title to "impossible to center text vertically on page or in frame." The suggestion to use a table inside the frame helps some but seems like an unnecessary burden on the user when it works, and I don't think it will work for those who want the text centered vertically on every page of a document (as for instance for multi-page posters). Thank you! To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". Adding essential word "vertically" in summary. *** Issue 111897 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Since my request was a duplicate, I will add my comments here: It has been mentioned on many sites that formatting text vertically in OpenOffice is complicated and in some cases not practical or insufficient a method. It seems unnecessary to have to create a frame, anchor it to the page, resize it and then align the frame centered vertically. Other problems that come into play are when more than one column is needed (or multiple pages as mentioned already). Often a column break does not properly work and the contents of one column end up in the other (requiring a hard break to balance out both since the contents within the frame cannot be aligned vertically - back to the original problem). Given the age of this topic, I doubt it will be resolved anytime soon. Add me to cc. |
