Comment 2 michael.ruess 2004-02-10 09:46:24 UTC
MRU->CMC: In the referred cells, there seems to be something more... content, which is located in other cells, has been copied to the cells containing the rotated text when exported and opened in MS Word.

cmc->mmaher: Some odd problems with table export here. Not too sure what might be the cause
Comment 5 Martin Hollmichel 2004-05-28 14:54:44 UTC
according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.

Comment 7 yoonkit 2006-02-06 07:41:24 UTC
This defect still persists in OOo2.0. here's how to reproduce it: 1) create a frame, type some text 2) change the rotation to 270 degrees 3) save as MSOffice 97/XP 4) open the file in OOo, and the rotation defaults to 90 degrees. I will include two files, 1) the original odt doc 2) the resultant MSOffice doc. The difference is in frame (c) where the arrow should point Down. Related issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=29997 Thanks. yk.
Comment 8 yoonkit 2006-02-06 07:42:26 UTC
Created attachment 33870 [details] This is the original document with 3 frames of diff rotations.
Comment 9 yoonkit 2006-02-06 07:43:32 UTC
Created attachment 33871 [details] This is the exported document which when loaded up in OOo rotates from 270 to 90.

In table rotated text 90 and 270 degree is not saved to MS word, is this different issue from this?
Comment 12 michael.ruess 2007-08-10 10:21:55 UTC
It is different and tracked in issue 3692. Not a problem of the filter, but of the core, which does not support it.

This acts quite strangely - there are some slightly different outcomes. e.g. 1. Create a new document 2. Create a single row, single column table 3. Add the text "Abc" in the one cell 4. Save as an MS Word 97/2000/XP document 5. Quit 6. Re-open the file This results in a table with the text rotated _90_ degrees instead of 270. How/ why...? In other circumstances, sometimes when setting the left margin of the table such that it doesn't take up the whole width of the page (i.e. a table on the right side of the page) there are stranger results. I created (more than once) a multi-column table with 270 degree rotated text, dragged the left margin out so the table took up the right half of the screen, saved, quit and reloaded the file. The result was that text in the cells was merged (text from first three cells appended to the text of the first cells) and some columns are missing, or worse, the whole table is hidden offscreen with a right margin value of -143cm or so!
