Description wind.li 2004-06-03 04:23:40 UTC
In writer, insert a draw object into a text documnet, set the line style to
invisable and set the fill to none. Thus the object will get lost in the
document. No way to select the object again. But in Microsoft Word, when you
move your mouse over an invisable object, the mouse pointer will change and you
can select the object by click any mouse key. Left key to select the object and
right key will cause to select the object and popup the content menu.
It sames that OOo's mouse events are base on the color of the clicked area. If
there is no color, there is no dispose. So if you want to select an object you
have to click the visable parts of the object but not the effect area of the
object. It's hard to use and will cause problem as this unable to select
invisable object.

At the moment it is only possible to select invisible objects via "capture"
tool. This is not very intuitive at all. This should be improved.

AW->MRU: In Draw/Impress You may use TAB, CTRL-A or capture frame. In SW You can
use the capture frame or the selector in the top-right scrollbar to move through
the draw objects. If You really want the mouse to support that, too, please send
again. This will need to be added separately to SW, SC and Draw/Impress, since
that's an application task.

-> windly: Well, imagine you have an object 4x4 px big somwhere on the page.
You'll spend a long time scanning the document and waiting for your pointer to
change.
You can reach this object with Shift+F5 if it is the first object of the page
and then cycle with Tab if it's.
I don't see the real need of adding a feature for this but let's see...
