Description revnomad 2002-05-23 15:06:24 UTC
This request comes from a forum discussion. A great hinderance to WP users
moving to OO is the lack of booklet printing cababilities. In our view it is
important OO include this ability, sooner is better than later.

But I know certain issues are more pressing to others! ;)

WP achieves it's booklet printing by "dividing" pages then following a special
"booklet print" printing mode.

OO.o already has these printing capabilities. Please explore the
print-Dialog (there's a button at the lower left corner, klick on it
and you'll be surprised -> the last checkbox in the column in the
middle). If this doesn't work for you please be more specific.

I looked for booklet in issues and found this bug and bug #10796, both
of which are resolved as WORKSFORME. Although the solution specified
in the second comment does create a booklet format, it does so by
shrinking the page down. Not only is this not even close to WYSIWYG,
I can't even see what it's going to look like in print preview because
the functionlity doesn't take effect until print time. Therefore, I
have print the page, adjust the fonts to make them readable, reprint,
etc. It would be nice if it were part of the page format so that the
page size would appear during editing as 1/2 size of a full page, so
that from the user's point of view, there is no shrinking involved.

@Stephen: always reopen closed issues when adding a comment.
But in this case it would be desireable if you could file a new issue
with a detailed description of your RFE (request for enhancement) -
this makes handling the issue easier. Thank you.

Actually, I tried to select the reopen issue box, but I got an error
saying that I didn't have authorization to change status. I've
reworded the request in issue #16745
