As a follow-up, I found issue #49405, which requests "Hello The end-user should be able to update OOo without uninstall the old version." That issue has had some follow-up discussions. I might not be the only one hosed like this. From my view, an uninstallable tool is a major bug, especially when the user removed the old one (oopsie) to get it working. Since many OS's can be confused with multiple versions, especially windows, maybe there should be a focused method to uninstall any found versions - maybe these would be downloaded on the fly, so a simple installation doesn't explode in disk space. I guess this would require automated removal script creation, and obviously isn't already there for previous versions. Thanks, John Known issue *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 52426 *** duplicate duplicate |
