Description hagar_de_lest 2006-12-06 13:18:17 UTC
When user wants to display the error indicator on a chart (Statistics tab) with
the Standard deviation :
- the calculated standard deviation is calculated with STDEVP instead of STDEV
- the error indicator is centered on each value, it should be centered on the
mean value only.

See attachment. MS Excel chart is fine, OOo chart is wrong.

Although there are two points described, I will take the first (one problem, one
Issue). Duplicate of Issue 66788 "Error bars: Standard deviation based on sample".
Please add your comments and votes to that Issue.
Cheers,
Andrew

I was reading this bug report again and I don't understand why you closed the bug.
You say there are 2 issues but :
- If the 1st one is handled by issue 66788, why not keeping this bug for the
second one (never reported it seems) ???
- Both issues are related to the graphical representation of the standard
deviation (no indication of the method used in the tab).

Please confirm if I have to open a new bug for the second issue. Rather strange
to close this one to open another just after.
Comment 6 hagar_de_lest 2007-05-09 22:06:35 UTC
Well, just remembered I'd already filed the requested bug.
Sorry.
Comment 7 kla 2007-05-14 10:11:47 UTC
@hagar: as ace_dent has written, he take the first issue and this one is a double.
That is absolutely correct. (Thx ace_dent)
See: http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html
Also your summary doesn't match for the second issue.
Pls submit for the second part a separate Issue with a correct summary.
I will close this issue again.
