There have more information about the issue. In MS office PowerPoint, I made a document linked to itself that the approach is same as I do in Impress. but when I click the "OK" button, the process pop a dialog say "PowerPoint do not insert itself". I made two documents that linked to each other. when I open any document in Impress, the process will hang up. when I open any document in MS Office PowerPoint, the process will pop a dialog say "Microsoft Office already confirmed a potential safety problem.", and can't display the OLE object normally. change the milestone The OOo Calc has the same problem. so I submited a issue for calc. you can see issue 80273 if you are interested in these problem. but, OOo Writer hasn't the problem because they load document based in different implementation. I can reproduce the bug Please have a look. target 3.0 Not enough resources to get it fixed in 3.0. Changing the target. The Writer also has the same problem. The Writer also has the same problem. 1.Create a new Impress document. 2.Enter some arbitrary text. 3.Save the document. 4.Insert a OLE object with itself : (1).click "Insert | Object | OLE Object", open the "Insert OLE Object" dialog. (2).select "Create from file" - "Link to file", click "Search" button. (3).in the open dialog, select the document has been saved just now, click "Open" button. (4).click the "OK" button in "Insert OLE Object" dialog. 5.Save the document, and close the process. 6.=>when open the document with Impress, the process will hang up.
