Calc should allow user to apply border line to multiple selection like in
GNumeric and Excel.

Add an option to customize border line thickness. 1 pt is too fine, 2.5 pt is
too thick. I need to set 2.0 pt but there's no where I can set it up.

duplicate to issue 40574

workaround: define a cell style containing that border, multi select the cells
and apply the style.

The second problem is already tracked in issue 8275.
