When you change the selected line the line style toolbar drop down does not get
updated.
the screen shot shows a selected dashed line but the line style toolbar dropdown
list is still showing continuious.
to reproduce create 2 lines, change the style of the second, note that the
rendering changes (and the drop box may or may not change sometime it would seem
you have to select the new style twice [might be clumsy user error]).
now select the first line, and the style dropdown will return to continuious
now select the second (dash or dotted) line and you will see the dropdown does
not update.
if you create a text area then the drop down will change to invisible, and if
you select the first (cont) line then it updates, but if you select the second
(dotted) line the dropdown will remain as "invisible".

Same problem with the "Line and Drawing Object Properties" toolbar in Writer and
the "Drawing Object Properties" toolbar in Calc: the line style dropdown is only
updated correctly when a selected graphic object uses the "continuous" line
style. For other line style settings, the toolbar dropdown shows "invisible"
when the toolbar updates.

The "Line" dialog window displays the correct line style.

The problem affects versions at least as far back as 2.4.2.
