I think "external parsed entities" and "external parameter entities" differ in extensions. Parsed entities use ".ent" and parameter entities use ".dtd". Look at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3023.txt (3. XML Media Types) which could explain it better. I think only problem is that parsed entity can use ".xml" extension which is associated with "document entities" and it is hard to detect (you should read whole document) if it is just parsed entity. Let these are considered while planning next release. Target milestone was changed from not determined to TBD .ent vs .dtd addresses most of it. |
