Instead of using custom initializers or pre/post init statements we should be able to visually edit the contents of a JTree using the form editor.
How much useful is to create trees with static content?
You bring up a good point.. Not much I guess.. I was using the form editor to create a prototype for a project I'm working on. I guess from the point of view of prototyping it is very useful.
OK, but form editor is not a prototyping tool primarily. And such a JTree customizer would not be trivial to implement. Besides other things, it is out of Java Beans concept (hierarchy of nodes) which would require serious hacks to code generation and persistence (at least). I'm afraid we won't have time to do this...
Target milestone -> 3.3
self-platform
I'm sorry to close this RFE, but it is a rather marginal thing from Form Editor point of view. I also see now we'll have hardly ever resources for implementing it...
Resolved for 3.3.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
