Description _ gtzabari 2001-03-10 09:34:32 UTC
Instead of using custom initializers or pre/post init statements we
should be able to visually edit the contents of a JTree using the form
editor.
Comment 1 Tomas Pavek 2001-03-12 16:09:14 UTC
How much useful is to create trees with static content?
Comment 2 _ gtzabari 2001-03-12 19:35:26 UTC
You bring up a good point.. Not much I guess..

I was using the form editor to create a prototype for a project I'm
working on. I guess from the point of view of prototyping it is very
useful.
Comment 3 Tomas Pavek 2001-03-13 09:07:44 UTC
OK, but form editor is not a prototyping tool primarily. And such a JTree
customizer would not be trivial to implement. Besides other things, it is out
of Java Beans concept (hierarchy of nodes) which would require serious hacks to
code generation and persistence (at least). I'm afraid we won't have time to do
this...

Target milestone -> 3.3
Comment 5 Marian Mirilovic 2001-05-30 08:31:47 UTC
self-platform
Comment 6 Tomas Pavek 2001-11-13 08:57:21 UTC
I'm sorry to close this RFE, but it is a rather marginal thing from
Form Editor point of view. I also see now we'll have hardly ever
resources for implementing it...
