Description nouar38 2007-04-26 16:56:07 UTC
Host 1:SDK beta2-b14 (04/24), nb 6.0 Dev 2007042331800, jdk 1.6u1 on windows xp
Host 2:SDK beta2-b14 (04/24), nb 6.0 Dev 2007042331800, jdk 1.5 u10 on solaris sparc

on Host1:
1)RunTime/Servers register a Remote server running on a solaris-sparc box: ok

2) right-click and select Properties (the one before Customize):
try to change the values, was able to change
the loglevel value of any property in the Remote instance.

on Host2:solaris-sparc box
1) refresh the server node, see the change in the node (Properties-below Customize)

I think this kind of remote action should be prohibited.
One must be able to see the values in Host1, but should not be able to change
them from Host1.

Why shouldn't you be able to edit the log settings of a remote instance. You are
in essence administering the remote instance. Plugin provides more or less
equivalent features for local and remote instance,to the extent supported by
server api's except for start/stop.

ok, got the point of this feature in 6.0 as part of administring a remote
instance. Should I change the Resolution to Invalid ?

Not a bug.
