Description leonardocarvalho 2007-05-12 17:21:26 UTC
Trying to register or remove a j2ee server on NetBeans kills the Metisse 3D
Desktop.
The operation succeeds, but the Metisse program locks hard. The X server and
other running programs continue working, but not the X front end.
Using java SDK 5 or 6, the same problem occurs.
System running accelerated Xorg, on a Mandriva Spring Free edition.

which server?

can you provide a bit more step-by-step details?
Comment 2 leonardocarvalho 2007-05-23 23:31:52 UTC
Any Server. J2EE, Subversion, Continuum.

After receiving the data about the server (URL, passwords, etc), the operation
seems to got successful, but the refresh on the display crashes the Mettisse Server.

Running under Compiz, no problem at all.

what is a Metisse server? (it sounds like a window manager...)

What is a compiz?

if the IDE is killing the window manager, that seems like it is a problem at a very low level of the
IDE/JDK/Xserver/window manager.

Java app should not casue OS to lock unless there is a JDK bug. Perhaps your 3D Desktop issue? Especially considering
that under Compiz everything runs fine.
