Description bharris18 2007-05-30 20:19:45 UTC
In cnd 5.5, there was an option in the Tools>Options C/C++ tab for "Compilers to
support in project configurations: [] FORTRAN". This is now gone in cnd 5.5.1
and there seems to be no way to enable the Fortran compiler support (using the
GUI). This option needs to be added back in to facilitate the Fortran
functionality which is now effectively removed in 5.5.1

The original vision for the C/C++ Development Pack did not include Fortran. The
team put some limited infrastructure to support Fortran so as to facilitate
implementation of the Fortran support in Sun Studio 12. The intent was to
possibly refactor the support in a NetBeans 6 timeframe so that all the Fortran
infrastrucure would move out.

We'll reconsider doing this, and advise the community of our decision later in
the year.

For the moment I'm recategorizing this item as an enhancement request.
