This problem could be at least caused by fact, that somehow my installer lost information about glassfish
server, installed by nbi installer. If I start IDE now with new userdir, there's no server in Runtime tab.
Comment 3 Jaroslav Pospisil 2007-07-27 08:51:46 UTC
Reassigning to serverplugins/glassfish,since the exception seems to be originating from somehow broken glassfish
b56.When I try to start it from console,I got same message :

Error refreshing ConfigContext:C:\Program Files\glassfish-v2-b56\domains\domain1
\config\domain.xml
cause: Failed to create the XML-DOM Document. Check your XML to make sure it is
 correct.
Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.

It's standard glassfish installation, which I didn't used outside Netbeans6.0 (with pseudo and japanese locale set).

Should be assigned to the module owner I guess...
Comment 5 Vince Kraemer 2007-07-30 22:52:46 UTC
please attach the domain.xml file for the domain that is registered...

Jarek,

does it happen if non pseudo localized is used when you are in other locale ?
if it does not, then it could be something in pseudo lcoalzied that perhaps should not be translated,

although the error msg about invalid byte does look like a typical encoding kind of issue.

also, does it happen on xp and solaris - just want to make sure its not something about vista.

No, I didn't saw such problem before in my daily testing, so it should be related to pseudo localized version of
installer. I didn't tested on other system than Vista,so I can't compare with other systems, but I think Jiri didn't
experienced such problem.

I'm afraid I already deleted glassfish I used with pseudo localization,so I can't attach domain.xml file.I'll try to
reproduce issue again and if so,I'll attach more information.

As for now I'm decreasing priority to P3, since it's not common case and it wasn't reproduced yet.
Comment 8 Jaroslav Pospisil 2007-08-08 08:36:21 UTC
I want to clarify the issue and reproducible cases.
It occured only with pseudo-localized version of Netbeans 6.0,after some time of using Glassfish v2, installed
alltogether with Full NBI installation.
Problem is,that Glassfish's domain became somehow corrupted by working with multibyte and Japanese locale set (I've used
multibyte characters a lot) and this caused showing described exception in many cases even with clean userdir.
Exception appeared when I invoked Web Application wizard, opened Servers node in Runtime tab or tried to Add New Server
there.
Strange is,that new Glassfish v2 server wizard had prefilled path to corrupted Glasfish,as if I'd its instance added in
Runtime tab,but there was nothing and Domain textfield in the same wizard was empty.

As Vince asked earlier, please attach the domain.xml file for the domain that is registered
Comment 10 Jaroslav Pospisil 2007-08-08 10:14:42 UTC
I'm not able to reproduce the issue anymore,so closing as invalid. I'll reopen if it happens again.
