Description Joelle Lam 2007-10-29 22:39:24 UTC
When trying to attach the profiler I noticed that your wording suggest the user need "Jdk 5.0" rather than a generic "j2se5.0". This can be confusing
especially for mac users who only have jdk1.4.

The text that should be changed:
Step 1: Run the application using JDK 5.0. When starting the application, provide the extra startup option to the java command:

You're right, in general profiled applications can run on JRE, JDK is not required. I don't understand your comment
about JDK 1.4 - this Java platform isn't supported for profiling.
Comment 2 Joelle Lam 2007-10-30 18:29:49 UTC
The reason I mention jdk1.4 is that when I saw that it said it needs "jdk5.0 or greater" I started to think that
profiler attachments did not work on Mac at all because Macs most recent jdk release is 1.4.
Comment 3 Tomas Hurka 2007-10-31 11:35:54 UTC
You are wrong. Both Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard) have JDK 1.5
Comment 4 Jiri Sedlacek 2007-10-31 13:09:45 UTC
Thanks for catching it! Now we use more general Java SE 5/6/7 instead of JDK 5/6/7 in Attach Wizard instructions.

Fixed in trunk.
