After running the JDK bundle installer and specifying all required locations the summaty page contained the following text: JDK 6 Update 4 Installation Folder: /home/mikhail/install/jdk1.6.0_04 NetBeans IDE Installation Folder: /home/mikhail/install/netbeans-6.0-200711190000 Java SE will be installed to the NetBeans IDE folder. The Java SE installation folder will not be the Netbeans IDE folder. The label is incorrect.
Actually Java SE here means "Java SE NetBeans Pack" and in fact it is installed at NetBeans IDE folder..
I understand we can't fix it for 6.0 but I think the issue is present and valid The label is clearly misleading. If we mean 'Java SE Netbeans Pack' - why do we display 'Java SE'? Why should user guess and can't just get our message? As a user I had impression we are talking about JDK since Java SE is what I was just configuring
... because the official name is 'Java SE' and not 'NetBeans Java SE Pack'.
I have just rerun the installation again. Before that page we mention Java SE only once and this is for 'Java SE Development Kit'. So new user will not be able to understand this is related to a part of NB
Steps to reproduce: - run JDK bundle installer - input all required data, start installation - track status messages, wait till installer starts to install Netbeans - press Cancel and confirm canceling the process Run the JDK bundle installer once more - bundle will say that JDK already exists
pls don`t mix two different issues.
sorry - had to be a separate issue
fixed.
