Whenever I go to set up an instance of glassfish, the default is set to: /Users/tim/SUNWappserver Aside from always being wrong, it just seems strange that if I'm setting up glassfish, then the place to look is someplace called SUNWappserver (I guess the SUNW is from the same geniuses that rewrote our From: addresses to be @Sun.COM for years so we could all go dot-com-the-enterprise? I always use an obsolete stock ticker ID as part of the directory name for software I install...). Anyway, there are some heuristics you could use that would be more likely to work - on a mac, anyway, scan for directories such as ~/glassfish* /Applications/glassfish* /Applications/NetBeans/*/glassfish* At least it would have a higher probability of being right and be less goofy looking.
this is easy to change and impossible to fix... but I will give it a go for 6.1
Adding a directory scan is probably a bad idea... I have changed the default in situations where the user is selecting sailfin and glassfish to be "better", though I do not think they can be right, 100% of the time. http://hg.netbeans.org/main/rev/a716932f6348
