I am running Ubuntu Feisty with JDK 1.6.03.

I did a fresh install of NetBeans 6.01 SE version and then added the UML module.
When I try to create a new UML project, in this case a Platform Independent version",
I get the following exception.

FWIW, I get the same behavior when I create a Java Model.

For some reason the <userdir>\.uml\config\NewDialogDefinitions.etc 
couldn't be loaded. The IDE log could potentially reveal more. 
Please check your <userdir> or restart with fresh one.
Fixed the NPE and added the logging.
