Netbeans version 6.1RC2 1)Click on services tab 2)Add server 3)Select Sun Java Application Server 4)Provide the Platform location (eg: c:\sun\sdk) 5)Press Tab Issue:A warning message is displayed " Provide a valid App server installation location" even after we enter the correct server home.. This issue doesn't exist when add a Glassfish V2.
Which server version did you register in IDE?
Can you also attach the contents of the c:\sun\sdk directory?
I am using SDK 5 U5 and WindowsXP Attaching the contents of c:\sun\sdk
Created attachment 60483 [details] SDk directory contetnt
You are using Java EE SDK but this is not supported server
I tried registering SJSAS 8.2 (as SJSAS), SJSAS 9.0u1 (as Glassfish v1) and SJSAS 9.1u1(as glassfish v2) and everything went fine, registering, start, stop, deploy and so on.
According to Dan's findings we can close the issue as invalid. Please use Glassfish or other supported server.
I am going to reopen this issue... we should probably try to make the error message a bit more informative. That is FAR from P1 though...
I was able to to add a server by selecting "SUN JAVA APPLICATION SERVER " in Netbeans 6.1 Beta. The server that I added was Application Server 9.1 Update 1 that was a part of app_platform SDK 5 U5. Now I am not able to add the same in Netbeans RC1. Everything works fine if GlassFishv2 is selected while adding server.
