I am running Vista x64 with NB IDE 6.1 and the x64 amd java sdk from sun. I have downloaded and installed the new Sun Appserver 9.1 Update 2. It is running fine. I cannot get the IDE to recognize the server - It continues to say that I need to set the directory to a valid directory. It will not let me continue (next button remains inactive). I have been able to connect to the server using a Glassfish V2 definition and it starts OK and I can deploy to the Sun Server OK. I have tried both the add server from the Services tab and the Servers (Wizard) from the menu with the same results. I apologize it this is sent to the worng forum - I could not find anything closer.
The 'Sun Java System Application Server' entry is only for 8.2. Servers based on the GF code base, use the Glassfish "type" regardless of their branding. I am marking this as a dup of an issue that has a request to clarify the "type" and/or the error message. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 135591 ***
