Description korb 2008-06-06 16:41:46 UTC
Please refer to this related (supposedly fixed) issue:

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=129658

I am seeing the exact same symptoms in 6.1 with all of the latest updates applied (Help->About reports Build 200805300101).

The difference between the problem reported in the issue 129658 and my situation is that I am forwarding the display of
the NB window to a remote X server. That is, I am running NB on an Ubuntu 8.04 server and I'm setting my DISPLAY to the
X server of my desktop machine.

The result of this problem is very inconsistent UI behavior. Upon startup, it takes nearly two minutes from the time the
main window is displayed until such time as I can select any menu items or otherwise interact with the GUI.

I will attach my messages.log shortly.

I am running the Sun JDK 1.6.0_06 on this machine, if that matters.
