According http://wiki.netbeans.org/InformationIcons 1. Start IDE. Open "Services" window. 2. Rightclick "Databases" node and choose "New Connection...". Result: "New Database Connection" dialog appears with "Please specify a value for the required field Database:" message in the bottom. This message is RED and looks like error message. View will be better if message is not red (probably just black).
Created attachment 62981 [details] Screenshot of red information message.
It is red because it is an error message - notice that the OK button is disabled. This is consistent with other dialogs in the DB Explorer at least - see the Java DB properties dialog and the MySQL properties dialog as other examples (in MySQL properties dialog, get rid of user name, in Java DB properties, type in invalid path to Java DB install).
David, please read this: http://wiki.netbeans.org/InformationIcons According to this document, if customer invokes dialog first time there should be prompt string, not error message.
It seems that this issue should have higher priority. But anyway it has been already fixed.
Verified with build 081005.
