According to the Permanent UI specification for NB IDE [1] there are following problems with *Select in Model* menu item(s) in main menu of the NB IDE 1, it is not in the IDE main menu Please, follow the UI Review process [2] to get the changes approved or fixed [1] http://wiki.netbeans.org/MainMenu [2] http://wiki.netbeans.org/UIReviewProcess
This action used to be there. If it was removed, please let me know and I would update the UI spec. Thanks.
Added back "Navigate->Select in Model" to the IDE. changeset 72a1eba9d618 in uml-main details: http://hg.netbeans.org/uml-main?cmd=changeset;node=72a1eba9d618
what is the situaton now when the UML has been removed from standard build?
Reviewed
what means reviewed? I'm completely confused. The situation of in the main repository(and daily builds) is still the same as in the time when I filled the issue. Please either 1, reassign to Jano to let him fix the UI spec document or 2, fix in code (actually how when the uml is out of game) Anyway, I'm reopening to get better resolution (and comment) then just reviewed thank you
Reviewed is talking about our code review, not a UI review. That is because it is checked into our team repository. It should be pushed to the main repository today or tomorrow.
lhasik, - UML team has a process to review our code before we can change the issue's status to FIXED. The code was checked in to the um-main repository and reviewed by uml team. I believed the change has been pushed to main as well. changeset 72a1eba9d618 in main details: http://hg.netbeans.org/main?cmd=changeset;node=72a1eba9d618 - "Navigate->Select in Model" was in the UI spect at the time this issue was filed, but recently it has been removed from the specs (I'm not sure why). jrojcek, could you add it back to the UI Specs? - The answer to your question "what is the situation now when the UML has been removed from standard build?" is if UML is not installed, the menu item "Select in Model" will not be seen on the main menu of IDE.
if it is not part of "full" IDE then it was correctly removed from the permanent UI spec that reflects(or better defines) the current state of the IDE thank you for explanation
verified in NB 6.5 UML daily build 20080731
