When I select direct internet connection and press ok i get a message screen (see attached image) and then redirected to
the same internet connection selection page.

This is bug in Glassfish v3 and it's known issue with space in install path has, see reported bug

It's bug 5354 (see link above) in GlassFish V3 and can only be (and will be) fixed in that codebase.  Please follow that
issue for further information on this problem.
