If you create a method with a certain signature then realise when you are using it you want to pass different parameters you can't refactor the method signature to what you want. e.g Create a method private static void test(int numberTest) { } Start to use it public static void main(String[] args){ String stringTest=""; test(stringTest); } At this point, the only refactoring fix is to create a new method, rather than to refactor change the signature of the current method.
Yes, this kind of refactoring is not supported yet. Changing this issue to enhancement since it's place for improvement current features
