Description runa 2009-09-01 18:58:22 UTC
Entering this for external customer from the Sun Developer Expert Assistance
program:

Netbeans IDE 6.5.1 is hanging at the initial splash screen on Win XP systems. It starts loading objects and modules.
Then it gets to "Starting modules...." and that is where it hangs. It will hang here for over one hour. After an hour
it continues and the IDE becomes functional with no other issues.

This has happened on 3 different XP professional systems here with both SP2 and SP3.

We have tried to uninstall the IDE and reinstall it again but immediately after the reinstall it continues to hang at
the same place. The only way we have found to recover from this hang is to reinstall XP and then do a clean Netbeans
reinstall.

Attached the ide log file and the ThreadDump.

Could you please do further evaluation? Mercurial is the last module logged.
Comment 4 Ondrej Vrabec 2009-09-02 08:33:04 UTC
The last log message in the log file is a regular message always logged when a user does not have mercurial installed
(i'll decrease the priority so it is not so confusing, though). The thread dump shows one active runnable thread -
profiler doing some file listing.
Reassigning to profiler for further evaluation.

To be able to evaluate I need a few (3-4) thread dumps. Anyway this has to be something unique to your configuration, since this does not happen to other
users.
