Description Masaki Katakai 2009-09-14 07:48:27 UTC
It seems that there is a typo(?) in ant/freeform/Bundle.properties.

org/netbeans/modules/ant/freeform/Bundle.properties:
OpenIDE-Module-Short-Description=Special project type for projects with pre\u00EBxisting Ant scripts.

I think \u00EB should be just 'e'. Please evaluate.

Thank you very much Milan for fixing quickly!

U+00EB LATIN SMALL LETTER E WITH DIAERESIS was actually correct, though (perhaps due to the influence of typewriters and
non-Unicode-aware text editors) plain LATIN SMALL LETTER E is also acceptable here. See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaeresis
Comment 4 Milan Kubec 2009-09-15 07:33:04 UTC
How one could know that in this case it's phonological term and not diacritic one?
Comment 5 Jesse Glick 2009-09-15 17:02:51 UTC
Not sure I understand the question. It's a diacritic with a phonological interpretation (avoidance of diphthong), though
unrelated to the umlaut usage of the diacritic (vowel fronting as in German).
Comment 6 Milan Kubec 2009-09-16 08:53:22 UTC
I meant how one can distinguish the "avoidance of diphthong" from "vowel fronting as in German" when using this
diacritic. E.g. I had no idea about the first interpretation, I knew only umlaut usage.
Comment 7 Jesse Glick 2009-09-16 19:44:44 UTC
Just depends on the language and the word. English and Dutch both use diaresis to avoid diphthongs in native words,
though the practice is becoming less common over time.

Integrated into 'main-golden', will be available in build *200909181401* on http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/nightly/ (upload may still be in progress)
