When given the dialogue box to select the files to upload/download, it is only possible to check/uncheck one at a time. A better way would be to allow multiple selections (using either shift or ctrl) and the ability to use space to check/uncheck the selection in one go, as is the case with many other UIs.
Maybe, the "Search" field could help you - type e.g. "mydirectory" in it and then invoke the context menu and Check/Uncheck All - all files and folders underneath "mydirectory" should be checked/unchecked.
I wasn't aware of this, and yes it does help somewhat, though this feature would still be preferred as it is quite a long way round. If this is considered an acceptable alternative (I know there are far more pressing issues), I will resolve the issue as WORKSFORME.
I would suggest to keep this issue open but OTOH we have quite many issues and other enhancements, as you can see... but keep it open, please.
