Now when I using "help->check for updates" only plugins get his updates. I think that better propose update IDE too.

And maybe add field "type of update" in settings:
only stable
beta milestones (example 6.9m1)
nightly

Is this issue still valid ? If yes, could you, please provide more info - like what version of NB do you use, what scenario are you trying, etc. Thanks

I am using last stable version (6.9.1) so can check this only when 6.10 be released.

Konstantin, do you mean that you would like to upgrade to the latest stable NetBeans version from Plugins manager? For example from 6.8 to 6.9?

In such a case I am sorry to inform you that this functionality is not supported on purpose. We want people to always download new NetBeans version from our site and install the product via installer.

I am closing this RFE as WONTFIX then. Thanks for your understanding.
